Tundra Howe, Business Manager
Tundra has extensive experience in the agricultural industry spanning more than a decade. She previously held the role of Quality Coordinator for Webster Fresh, an onion and carrot export business, where she was responsible for ensuring implementation and certification across a range of environmental and quality assurance systems including ISO 9000, WQA, BRC, GlobalGAP, Nature’s Choice and HACCP.
Tundra joined TQA Australia in 2005, with a focus on system development and maintenance, auditing a range of management systems, reviewing and updating training materials, delivering environmental and quality assurance training and reviewing and rewriting quality system Codes of Practice. Tundra is highly proficient and qualified to develop and deliver practical programs.
Emma Piercey, Manager - Compliance
Since commencing with TQA Australia in 2008, Emma has undertaken responsibility for business management system development and maintenance, updating training manuals, delivering environmental and quality assurance training and conducting internal audits.
Emma completed a Bachelor of Applied Science in 1995 and has worked in the dairy industry for over 10 years in various roles, including Quality Manager with a local feta manufacturing company. In this role Emma developed quality and training programs, to ensure all regulatory and customer requirements were met, including WQA and AQIS.
Emma has completed her Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and her strong microbiological and analytical skills complement the TQA Australia team.
Daryl Connelly, Manager - Business Development
Prior to 2010 Daryl was a TQA Australia employee and managed a number of projects of national significance to the agrifood sector. These included the first ever environmental stocktake of the Australian avocado industry and trialling the Freshcare Environmental Viticulture Code of Practice. Daryl is now self employed and is assisting TQA Australia with business development. He is an enthusiastic manager with a diverse, 15 year food industry background spanning primary production, value adding, export and food service. His skills and experience range from managing one of Tasmania's iconic export food businesses, to working with business and industry groups to develop practical solutions to seemingly complex problems.
A beekeeper in his spare time, Daryl is particularly passionate about and provides services to the honey industry, and counts his role in the establishment of the Tasmanian Active Honey Group Pty Ltd as one of his most significant achievements.
